What is the Corporation Counsel?
The Office of the Corporation Counsel acts as the legal advisor and legal representative of all County of Hawai‘i agencies and departments, including the County Council.

Who is the Corporation Counsel?
The Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawai‘i is Lincoln S.T. Ashida.

Where is your office located?
The office is located at the Hilo Lagoon Centre, 101 Aupuni Street, Suite 325, Hilo, Hawai‘i 96720.

I need legal advice.   Can you help me?
The Office of the Corporation Counsel provides legal representation and support for the County of Hawai‘i and all its departments, employees, officers, boards and commissions. It does not provide legal advice to the general public.

What are your hours of operation?
Our office hours are 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

How can I get a copy of an Ordinance?
For a copy of an ordinance, please contact the Office of the County Clerk at 961-8255.

How do I file a claim?
You need to submit a completed claim form to the Office of the County Clerk. To obtain such a form you may download the  pdf form claimsinfo, or contact the County Clerk's office at 961-8255.
